Navigating the Multi-Generational Workplace and Caseload
SESSION INFO
Tuesday, August 20, 2019
8:30 AM - 10:00 AM
Session Type: Workshop
Today, you can find up to five different generations in the workplace and in our caseloads. This presents enormous challenges, as each of us views the world through our own “generational lens.” Understanding how to effectively communicate with those from other generations and to appreciate possible differences is crucial in deescalating generational tensions and conflicts–both within our workplace and with the clients we supervise. In this informative and entertaining workshop, participants will learn what they need to know about navigating the multi-generational office and supervision caseload. What motivates each generation? What are their communication and feedback preferences? How have members of each generation been shaped by their parents, society, popular culture, and technology? Participants will gain specific tools and techniques on how to best work with, communicate, and understand their different generational cohorts.
