Nan Benally is the Tribal Program Grants Manager for the American Probation & Parole Association. She works with tribal communities throughout the United States providing support and technical assistance in the implementation of grant funded programs that focus on the needs of tribal communities. The work includes outreach to tribal leaders, researchers, organizations and individuals that promote collaborative partnerships in addressing the needs of tribal communities focused in areas of Probation & Parole. Nan has utilized her background in areas of social justice in helping to create outcomes of direct application and influence in resolving concrete problems and also meeting community-based needs, transforming the status quo of institutions and challenging stakeholders in addressing these issues collaboratively, leading to a multidisciplinary commitment to enact change. Nan has completed her Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Arizona State University and continues to work on her doctorate and professional licensure.

Rory Tendore was born near the Shoshone-Bannock Indian Reservation in Blackfoot, Idaho to Irene St. Clair Tendore and Lee Darrell Sheepskin. Ms. Tendore is an enrolled member of the Eastern Shoshone tribe. Maternal grandparents are Lynn St. Clair and Eloise Sonnicant St. Clair, paternal grandparents are Wilson Sheepskin and Nessie Silver Sheepskin of Fort Hall, Idaho. She is the mother of three children and resides in Fort Washakie, Wyoming where she is employed as the Director of the Eastern Shoshone Department of Juvenile Service. Ms. Tendore has been previously employed for fifteen years by Fort Washakie School as a paraprofessional, administrative assistant, and an after school coordinator. During her employment Ms. Tendore worked on the development of the Fort Washakie Charter High School, the National Science Foundation S.T.E.M. implementation which included the Five Days of Buffalo, and the Missoula Children’s Theatre© for the after-school community engagement projects. Ms. Tendore attended Flandreau Indian School in Flandreau, South Dakota and Wyoming Indian High School in Ethete, Wyoming. Ms. Tendore attended United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck, North Dakota with a focus in office technology , Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, and the University of Montana-Billings for public administration. She received a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 2016 where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and completed her student teaching with the Wind River Elementary School in Pavillion, Wyoming and the Little Chief’s Preschool in Ethete, Wyoming. Upon completion of degree requirements, Ms. Tendore served as a substitute teacher within the Wind River Indian Reservation until beginning employment with the Shoshone & Arapaho Headstart Program as an early childhood teacher for eighteen months prior to the appointment as the Juvenile Service Director. Ms. Tendore has completed the Wyoming Department of Family Service CORE training in 2017 and the Association of Probation and Parole-Tribal Probation Academy in 2018. Ms. Tendore also serves as a member of the Wind River Indian Reservation Child Protection Team, Fremont County Single Point of Entry Team, Wyoming Advisory Council on Juvenile Justice, Wyoming Children’s Trust Fund, and has recently been accepted to the Leadership Wyoming Program
