SESSION INFO
Tuesday, March 12, 2019
8:00 am - 9:30 am
Session Type: Workshop
To ensure successful offender reintegration into the community, a process of coordinated supervision services is needed based upon a validated risk and needs assessment to guide treatment programming from conviction through sentence completion. The best way to protect the public and ensure public safety is to provide offenders with the fundamental skills necessary to lead independent, productive and crime free lives. This presentation will showcase the 360° Seamless Supervision model, which is a combination of guided treatment and programming during the initial and post-conviction stages.
Most states have implemented some form of criminal justice legislation, which likely has impacted internal procedures in an effort to reduce technical violations and reduce recidivism. In Tennessee, utilization of the 360° Seamless Supervision model outlined the priorities for the agency and: defined the processes; implemented effective, evidence-based practices; developed swift, certain and proportionate sanctions for non-compliance with the conditions of probation or parole; developed a structured incentives matrix to reinforce pro-social behavior; established individualized case management plans; and increased the sustained employability of individuals with felony criminal convictions.
