Nebraska Aggression Replacement Training is a cognitive program used by the Administrative Office of Courts and Probation for moderate and high-risk youth on probation. This program not only benefits aggressive youth, but also youth who can benefit from skill development. This program includes parent empowerment, which benefits the family and youth in their home environment. Empathy components are also a part of the program and assist the youth in enhancing this personality trait. During the eight week program there are three modules which are focused on: 1) social skills, 2) self control and 3) traps and traits. Throughout the course of the eight weeks youth are involved in building these components up individually through a variety of skill building activities.

Mr. Jeremy Behrends
Juvenile Justice Programs Specialist, NE Supreme Court Office of Probation Administration
Jeremy Behrends started in Nebraska Probation in 1999 as an Adult Probation Officer, completing Presentence Investigations as well as supervising probationers in the community. Served as the Sex Offender Specialist in the District serving on a variety of committees focusing on the sex offender population. In this role, also participated in national conferences engaging with other professionals to broaden knowledge around this population. Later, Jeremy moved to the Administrative Office of Courts and Probation and became one of the first Navigation Officers in the state working closely with Department of Corrections staff to assist inmates being released onto Post Release Supervision. Jeremy then served 3 years as the Chief Probation Officer of one of 14 probation districts in Nebraska. This District supervised both adult and juveniles sentenced to terms of probation. In his current position he serves as the Juvenile Case Management Specialist in the Administrative Office of Courts and Probation. In this role, he works closely with all probation districts across Nebraska assisting with case management.
Sarah VonWonder
Reentry Officer, Nebraska State Probation
Sarah VonWonder graduated from the University of Nebraska in 2006 with her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. She moved to Phoenix, Arizona and began working in the Maricopa County Juvenile Detention Centers as a Juvenile Detention Officer from 2006 to 2010. In 2010 she became a Supervisor in the Mesa, Arizona detention facility before transitioning to Adult Probation in Maricopa County (Phoenix, Arizona) in 2011. Sarah has supervised a mix caseload in downtown Phoenix, eventually spending her last 3 years in Maricopa County supervising Adult Sex Offenders. Sarah transitioned back to Lincoln, Nebraska in December 2014. She began working has a Specialized Juvenile Probation Officer in May 2015 in District 3J (Lincoln) until November 2020. During this time, Sarah has supervised Juveniles Whom Sexually Harm and collaborates with both Whitehall and Hope Spoke in Lincoln to ensure the youth on her caseload are getting the offense specific therapy and services they need. In November 2020, Sarah transitioned to the Re-Entry Unit within the Juvenile Division of Nebraska AOCP. Sarah collaborates with the Home District Officers and the state facilities (Whitehall and Lincoln YRTC) to ensure youth are being supported while in placement and establishing a successful discharge plan.
