Moderated by Julie Truschel, Chair of APPA’s International Relations Committee, this interactive workshop with an international panel will provide an overview of the Peace Education Program, its unique approach, its reach, its impact, and how you can implement it at your agency for staff and clients. The Peace Education Program is an evidence-based, innovative series of video-based workshops. Its unique approach aims to increase self-awareness to support resilience, empathy, and wellbeing through a strengths-based curriculum. The 10 themes are: Peace, Appreciation, Inner Strength, Self-Awareness, Dignity, Choice, Hope, Clarity, Understanding and Contentment. Demonstrating its cross-cultural relevance, 250,000 people in 72 countries have participated in the Peace Education Program in over 30 languages. Diverse settings for the program include probation, parole, pretrial, reentry and juvenile justice. Course content and implementation support are provided free of charge by The Prem Rawat Foundation.

Willow Baker (Simi Valley, California) is the Program Director for The Prem Rawat Foundation’s signature Peace Education Program as well as an ambassador for the Institute of Economics and Peace and a member of APPA’s International Relations Committee.
Ms. Baker has extensive experience with international collaborations to support innovative and effective programs that empower people to discover their humanity and live their lives with dignity and respect for themselves and others.
The Prem Rawat Foundation is a humanitarian organization that advances dignity, peace, and prosperity by addressing the fundamental human needs of food, water, and peace.
