The pace of change in our work is unlike anything seen before in human history and the pace is not going to slow. This pace of change, volatility and uncertainty aren’t going away in parole and probation. Fortunately, many of the leadership skills inherent in us today will remain valuable in serving the leadership needs of the future. During this session we’ll explore the new toolbox of skills needed for cohesive and productive departments of tomorrow supporting mutually inclusive goals of exceptional results and workplace well-being. Investing in resilience, trust, relationships, meaning and optimism are the foundation of the successful teams of tomorrow.

Paul Duba
Owner and Principal, Point-B Coaching
Paul Duba is an executive coach and leadership educator, with a fascination for understanding how high performance teams come up with breakthrough thinking and the drive to succeed when other teams give up. He teaches leadership at the collegiate level and coaches with private, public, and non-profit leaders whose rise to organizational responsibility has brought them to a crossroads. Paul helps his clients gain confidence as they learn what leadership may bring, from supporting a team’s proficiency in technical settings, to teambuilding for a group’s ability to leverage resources from within as they respond to novel challenges. Paul has recently presented to Contra Costa County Probation and will be a featured presenter at the 2025 California Association of Probation Services Administrators conference in San Luis Obispo, CA.
Anthony Poponi

Anthony Poponi is the CEO and founder of Focus on the 40 and is an expert in positive psychology, the applied science of human happiness. Anthony specializes in showing his audiences a path to more joy, fulfillment and success in our workplaces through live and virtual programs including keynotes, retreats, team-buildings and coaching full of actionable tools and strategies to show you and your team a path towards being happier and successful! He works regularly with probation teams and has presented at conferences hosted by CAPSA, CPOC, PBMA and worked directly with several county led probation departments. His latest book, “The Little Book of Workplace Happiness” is little because it gets to the point about what actions can have a big impact on workplace culture.
