Making Justice Count in Supervision: Better Data for Better Decisions

Antoine Brunson supports policymakers to make better decisions using criminal justice data as part of the Justice Counts initiative. Previously, he worked for the NYC Department of Education, where he supported the Office of the General Counsel. As a supervising legal coordinator, he worked on settling lawsuits filed against the NYC Department of Education and worked closely with different agencies such as the Mayor’s Office, Administration for Children’s Services, and the Law Department. He received his BA in English with a minor in criminal justice from the University at Albany. He also received his MA in political science with a concentration in international affairs, global justice, and foreign policy from Brooklyn College.

Katie Mosehauer assists the state division in conceptualizing and constructing new projects and publications that help advance the criminal justice field in using evidence-based practices and understanding recidivism trends. Prior to joining the CSG Justice Center, Katie was the executive director of Washington Appleseed, a legal advocacy organization dedicated to generating research-based public policy impacting underserved populations in Washington state. As executive director, she developed and directed multiagency projects on topics ranging from early childhood nutrition to community reentry from prison. Katie earned her BA in anthropology from the University of Virginia.

Laramie joined CSG as the Project Manager for Justice Counts, where she will strategically work with the justice counts team to encourage stakeholders to record and report accurate data so that political decisions can reflect what will best serve communities. She has a Bachelor of Science in both Communications as well as International Studies, and a Master of Education from Vanderbilt University in Community Development and Action. Prior to joining CSG, Laramie was heavily engaged in the educational realm, first as an eighth-grade math teacher in the Mississippi Delta and later in administration as the Dean of Community Life where she worked to amplify community input in their public education system. Her most recent role involved coordinating college in prison programs throughout Tennessee State Prisons. She also has extensive experience with reentry, working with justice impacted individuals to create meaningful plans post incarceration. Laramie continues to engage with nonprofit organizations who promote educational equity and who work towards disrupting systems of harm.
