Discover how recent election outcomes, the evolving national dialogue on public safety and sustained bipartisan support are creating new opportunities for supervision reform. This session explores the potential for advancing legislation and improving practices to deliver better outcomes for individuals on supervision while enhancing public safety. Attendees will gain actionable insights into navigating and embracing shifts in the political and policy landscape, as well as understanding the opportunities and challenges that may shape the future of reform efforts in their jurisdictions.
The session, hosted by REFORM Alliance, will begin with a 25-minute panel discussion and feature leaders from REFORM, elected officials, advocacy organizations, and probation/parole chiefs. Panelists will explore:
Opportunities for Reform: How recent policy changes and bipartisan momentum create pathways for improving supervision systems.
Measurable Successes: Examples of legislative successes that have reduced recidivism, expanded opportunities for individuals on supervision, and strengthened public safety.
Navigating the New Landscape: How stakeholders can navigate the changing environment to seize new opportunities for reform, including working with diverse coalitions to explore new legislative opportunities.
