Community supervision agencies are facing and will continue to face increasing demands for timely and accurate data. The standard reports we relied upon in the past are no longer a viable option when dealing with policy makers, advocacy groups, and outside researchers. This workshop will focus on how the Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS) has incorporated interactive dashboards to promote data transparency. The presenters will also discuss the challenges and offer insights on how to produce a product that satisfies multiple audiences.

Clarissa Dias
Senior Research Analyst, GA Department of Community Supervision
Dr. Clarissa Dias is a Senior Research Analyst for the Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS). Prior to joining DCS, Dr. Dias worked as a Business Analyst for the Georgia State Board of Pardons and Parole and worked as a Project Analyst at the Justice Management Institute. Dr. Dias holds a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice and Ph.D. in Political Science.
Mrs. Maria Stephenson
Research & Data Services Director, GA Department of Community Supervision
Dr. Maria Stephenson is the Director of Research & Data Services for the Georgia Department of Community Supervision. In this role, Dr. Stephenson conducts and coordinates the research of approximately 200,000 adult felony probationers and parolees to guide the Department’s strategic planning and enable data-driven decision making. Prior to her current role, Dr. Stephenson served as the Research and Development Manager, the Center Administrator of the Macon Day Reporting Center, and as a Probation Officer. Dr. Stephenson holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice, M.S. in Human Services, M.Phil in Criminal Justice, and a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice.
