Peer Recovery Coaches in Michigan Parole/Probation Offices

The Michigan Department of Corrections has embedded Peer Recovery Coaches in Parole and Probation offices since 2021 with the goal of helping individuals with opioid or amphetamine use disorder not only successfully complete the term of their parole or probation but to assist individuals find meaning in their life so they don’t return to the carceral setting.

SESSION PRESENTERS
Amanda Bolotta
Lead Recovery Coach, MI Department of Corrections
Amanda is a person in long term recovery and passionate about giving back in the areas she struggled in most. She has a desire to assist others in overcoming challenges they may face along their individual roads to recovery. Amanda worked in St. Clair County Probation and Parole as a Certified Peer Recovery Coach before moving into the Lead Coach position for the MDOC RAPS Program (Recovery Advocacy Program Services – RAPS) She enjoys leading a team of Recovery Coaches, growing the program, and finding new ways to improve community collaboration in each county served.
Elizabeth Boyd
Substance Use Treatment Services Manager, MI Department of Corrections
Beth has worked in the substance abuse services field for over 15 years and specifically has worked with the criminal justice population in jails, mental health court and prisons. She is passionate about helping individuals successfully transition from the prison setting into the community.
