Outcomes and Lessons of a Federal Mental Health Re-entry Court

The presentation will provide information about a process evaluation of the federal mental health re-entry court in Eastern District of Missouri in St. Louis conducted by Lindenwood University in 2015. The presenter will provide brief background information about theories of offending to provide the audience with the framework for the reason re-entry courts were established. The way a process evaluation is conducted and the reason to conduct the same will also be discussed. The evaluation design and results will be presented. Key findings and recommendations for improvements will also be a focus of the presentation. Finally, lessons learned from the past 7 years will be discussed.

SESSION PRESENTERS
Jennifer Parker
Supervising U.S. Probation Officer,
Jennifer Parker has been a U.S. Probation Officer since 2010. In 2007, she earned a Master's degree in Social Work from Washington University. Jennifer has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2010 and is certified to provide clinical supervision for social workers pursuing clinical licensure in Missouri. Elizabeth Marcus is a U.S. probation officer with the Eastern District of Missouri's St. Louis office. Elizabeth is a member of the Janis C. Good Mental Health Court, and supervises a caseload primarily consisting of individuals with severe, persistent mental health concerns.
