Countdown to 2019 Annual Training Institute
Countdown displayed in Pacific Standard Time (PST)
We are happy to announce that the 44th Annual Training Institute has been awarded a supplemental type certificate (STC) for 19 training hours – STC certification #08646179
The theme for this summer’s training institute is Passion, Courage, and Endurance: Transforming Community Corrections. The adult and juvenile justice systems are experiencing significant and powerful change driven by justice reform and innovative practices focused on promoting public safety in a more fair, just, and effective manner. America’s ever-changing landscape poses challenges and opportunities to incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion in justice system program development, culturally competent and trauma-informed service delivery, and organizational change. As jurisdictions tackle policy reform, organizational development, and strengthening community partnerships, the overarching goal is to address critical social justice issues with a strong sense of passion, courage, and endurance.
Studies show that employee engagement, professional development, and health and wellness strategies reduce turnover and retain effective employees that result in safer communities and positive outcomes for justice-involved individuals. Ultimately, the transformation of community corrections is dependent upon the field evolving toward a positive future for our profession and the communities we serve.
The American Probation and Parole Association’s 44th Annual Training Institute in San Francisco gives an interactive learning experience for professionals involved in the community corrections, juvenile justice, and treatment professions in the United States, its territories, and several other countries. Through workshops, intensive sessions, guest speakers, and Resource Expo, our training institute provides knowledge and tools to help shape the future of community corrections by meeting the needs of today’s professionals. There is no better event to network with and learn from fellow community corrections professionals and have access to the most current and vital information available on state of the art products, services, and technologies than APPA's training institute!
