Timothy C. Evans serves as the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County, the largest of the 24 judicial circuits in Illinois and also one of the largest unified court systems in the world. More than 1 million cases are annually filed in the court, which serves Cook County’s 5.2 million residents.
Chief Judge Evans oversees about 400 judges whom he assigns throughout the court’s 10 divisions and six geographic districts. He also oversees an annual budget of $277 million and about 2,600 employees who work in 15 non-judicial offices providing court-related services such as probation, courtroom interpreters and the supervision of children in the courthouse.
Danny K. Davis was chosen by the people of the 7th Congressional District of Illinois as their Representative in Congress on November 5, 1996. He has been re-elected by large majorities to succeeding Congresses. In the 117th Congress, Representative Davis has been reappointed to the Committee on Ways and Means and is the Chairman of the Worker and Family Support Subcommittee. Davis also serves on the Oversight and Reform Committee. Congressman Davis is a member of several Congressional Caucuses including the Congressional Black Caucus, the Progressive Caucus, the Urban Caucus, the Community Health Center's Caucus, the Congressional Sugar Caucus, the Congressional Caucus on Black Men and Boys and Co-Chair of the Congressional Caucus on Re-entry.

Learn More »Although hundreds of community corrections professionals will join us in beautiful Chicago, IL, APPA recognizes that travel is still difficult for many during these uncertain times. As such, our goal is to be THE supplemental educational resource for your agency, not just for those who can travel. For that reason, APPA is proudly hosting this training institute as a hybrid event. So, those unable to join us in-person can purchase a virtual ticket to cost-effective training from your home or office.
As a reminder, you get the benefit of live-streamed sessions, on-demand workshops, and webinar recordings.
Virtual: There is a no refund policy for the virtual training institute due to contractual agreement to the virtual platform host.
Virtual Remedy: If an individual is unable to attend the virtual training institute, the registration may be transferred (substituted) to another individual from the same agency. Written requests must be sent to Kimberly Mills.
In-Person: APPA’s no refund policy cut-off date is July 29, 2022. While there are valid reasons an individual cannot attend the training institute after registering, especially during the pandemic, unfortunately, the association must hold firm to this policy. APPA is bound by contractual obligations to the meeting venue to cover costs and/or penalties.
In-Person Remedies: APPA values all members and stakeholders. If an individual is unable to attend the in-person training institute, regardless of the reason, APPA will offer one of the following remedies: (1) transfer registration fee to the virtual training institute – three individuals may attend to substitute for one in person registration, and/or (2) transfer (substitute) registration to another individual from the same agency. Written requests must be sent to Kimberly Mills.
