Description Research shows that about 25-30% of first-time DUI offenders will reoffend. However, this rate can vary based on factors like jurisdiction, the specific measures taken for rehabilitation, and the duration of follow-up. For example, the effectiveness of interlock programs has been shown to reduce recidivism among participants, with studies indicating that recidivism rates can drop by up to 60% when ignition interlock devices are mandated after a DUI offense.
Join us for an insightful presentation featuring a diverse panel of experts in the probation space, discussing the transformative role of ignition interlock devices in rehabilitation and their effectiveness as a deterrent for repeat drunk driving offenses. Our panel will share real-world experiences and strategies for integrating these devices into probation programs, emphasizing how they foster accountability and support recovery. Additionally, panelists will explore how they manage their caseloads using advanced ignition interlock reporting tools, ensuring timely interventions and enhancing monitoring efficiency. Discover how technology and rehabilitation can work together to create safer communities and promote second chances.

During this pre-recorded, OnDemand webinar, attendees will witness a true story of the power of forgiveness, accepting responsibility and how lives can be changed through the process of Victim Offender Mediation. You will also hear about the real challenges that come as a result of the process, which may last a lifetime. This presentation will allow you to hear Sheila’s story and the path she took to engage with the person responsible for the death of her mother, to find a different vision of what could happen for both of them, and, to turn tragedy into hope and anger into forgiveness.

Description Recent legislation has introduced sophisticated victim notification systems, providing real-time alerts and crucial information to those affected by domestic violence. These systems offer new avenues to safeguard and empower victims, enhancing their ability to make informed decisions and access timely resources. However, the effectiveness of these programs hinges on more than just cutting-edge technology; it calls for the active collaboration of law enforcement, social services, advocacy groups, and the broader community. A unified effort is essential to ensure that victims receive the full protection and support they need.
During this session we will review the implementation of the Tiffany Hill Act (SB 5149) in Washington and the recently implemented Debbie and Marie Domestic Violence Protection Act (HB2692) in Tennessee and how they are supporting victims of domestic and intimate partner violence. This session will include industry experts from the legislative and investigatory levels to discuss how victim notification can and should be utilized. In addition, this session will include a short demo of the technology that is available to correlate the capabilities and limitations of using victim notification.
