APPA’s Executive Summit of Community Corrections Leaders is the first in a series of APPA-hosted senior leadership-focused forums. The two-day inaugural summit will take place on Thursday and Friday, March 7 and 8, 2019, at the Hyatt Regency, 400 SE 2nd Avenue, Miami, Florida. The key summit organizers are some of our favorite, well-respected community corrections leaders--Barbara Broderick (Chief Probation Officer, Maricopa County Adult Probation), Mark Carey (The Carey Group), and Dr. Brian Lovins (Principal for Justice System's Partner)--as well as representatives of our executive summit partner organizations, Juliene James (Director of Criminal Justice, LJAF) and Connie Utada, Esq. (Associate Manager of Pew's Public Safety Performance Project).

In 2018, LJAF and Pew collaborated to analyze leading research and identify the most pressing problems and promising solutions to improve probation and parole in America. Their brief (Probation and Parole Systems Marked by High Stakes, Missed Opportunities) presented some key insights that challenge many assumptions about supervision. This significant analysis will be the impetus for both the initial discussion and the finale of the executive summit.

This is a not to be missed event for every top-ranking probation and parole leader to find a dynamic, highly interactive compendium of presentations that have both a leadership and programmatic thrust. They will gain knowledge, connect with colleagues and peers, share information, establish partnerships and collaborations, and pick up valuable enhancements to use in their respective agencies. Participation in the summit is limited to individuals in top-ranking positions only:
