CODE OF CONDUCT
APPA expects its employees and individuals who attend its hosted events to conduct themselves in a businesslike manner at all times. Unprofessional activities are strictly prohibited. While APPA acknowledges the freedom of expression of speakers, participants, sponsors, and exhibitors, training institute attendance requires adherence to the following principles and values by APPA staff and all others:
All shall behave in a professional, courteous and respectful manner, refraining from language and actions that might bring discredit upon themselves, their colleagues, their employers, or APPA.
Participants attending any APPA event are subject to the laws applicable in the U.S. and the state in which the event is held.
APPA reserves the right to refuse admission to any individual or group if they advocate or support violent actions or destructive behavior, including but not limited to sexual harassment and discrimination. This right of refusal applies to those who had previously been in violation of any rule of conduct or applicable law at a prior APPA event.
APPA can revoke the name badge, registration, and associated materials, and deny access to participants who do not adhere to these principles. Violation of the rules is also grounds for ineligibility at future APPA events.
Attendees expelled from a training institute for violations will not be afforded a refund or credit for registration fees. APPA is not liable for hotel or travel costs incurred by an attendee expelled from an event.
APPA badges are required for admittance to all events and must be worn at all times. Lost badges should be immediately reported to APPA staff at the registration booth. Badges are nontransferable, and misuse of badges or efforts to assist unauthorized persons to gain access to any APPA event, or any inappropriate conduct is just cause for reclaiming badges.
