APPA Curriculum Accreditation

Through its Curriculum Accreditation program, the American Probation and Parole Association (APPA) promotes quality continuing education and professional development opportunities for probation, parole and community corrections professionals. The curriculum accreditation process is an opportunity for individual agencies to have their classroom-based and/or online training programs acknowledged for meeting an approved training standard and receive endorsement by APPA.

Courses/curriculum to be considered for accreditation must meet certain requirements deemed essential to quality, well-thought out training programs.

Seeking APPA Training Accreditation Committee Members!
If you are an APPA member and are interested in serving on the APPA Training Accreditation Committee to assist in the curriculum review and accreditation approval process, please contact the Accreditation Committee Chairperson or the APPA Training Accreditation Committee Liaison.

After a Certificate of Accreditation is Received

Once a course/curriculum is accredited by APPA, the submitting agency may indicate on promotional materials that “This [course/training] is accredited by the American Probation and Parole Association.”

APPA Accreditation approval does not give the submitting agency permission to attach the APPA logo to the course/training/curriculum, marketing materials, etc. There are additional requirements and regulations associated with using the APPA logo on other agency’s websites, materials, etc. Contact APPA for more information on these requirements and regulations.
