As the voice of the community corrections industry, APPA's responsibilities are immense. We have our dedicated staff to thank for carrying out the day-to-day operations.

Small but Mighty

APPA operates as an affiliate under the secretariat services of the Council of State Governments (CSG). Representing the field of community corrections, our team shoulders substantial responsibilities to advance the profession by forward through communicating current trends; encourage forward-thinking; offering networking opportunities; providing practical training; and conducting meaningful, industry-specific policy and research.

Our Responsibilities

As the voice of community corrections, APPA’s responsibilities are immense. In addition to serving members and managing projects, staff responsibilities are divided between the Administrative and Grants teams. Some of the duties are listed below.

Administrative Team

● Serves APPA's membership
● Plans and conducts training institutes
● Coordinates onsite and online trainings
● Produces quarterly e-Journal, Perspectives
● Provides a variety of web-based products
● Disseminates information to the field

Grants Team

● Secures project funding from various sources, including government and non-government entities
● Facilitates projects’ primarily involving training and technical support for professionals in the field
● Conducts and/or advises on research and evaluation initiatives
