IND
IND (Indianapolis International Airport) combines state-of-the-art security measures with smart design and plenty of public art. Speedy service, great restaurants, and plenty of shops to find that perfect souvenir have earned the airport a wall full of accolades, including Best Airport in North America by Airports Council International (eight years running), and by J.D. Power and Associates (two of four years), Best Overall Passenger Experience by J.D. Power and Associates, and Best Airport in America by Condé Nast Traveler the past five years.
Driving In
Known as the Crossroads of America, Indianapolis is within a day’s drive of over half of the U.S. population and within three hours of Chicago, Louisville, and Cincinnati. Traffic congestion is a rarity, visitors find the city’s grid layout straightforward, and downtown features over 73,000 parking spots. If you’re traveling to Indy in an electric vehicle, the city is stocked with ample electric charging stations. There are 688 charging stations in the Indianapolis area, 109 of which are free to use. Find your EV charger here.

Biking
Away.com named Indianapolis one of the best cities to see from a bicycle, thanks to the city’s flat landscape, innovative Indianapolis Cultural Trail, and abundance of bike paths. Some hotels offer guests complimentary bikes, or they are available at two convenient rental locations and through the new Pacers Bike Share Program. Explore on two-wheels with bikes from Wheel Fun Rentals in White River State Park or Bicycle Garage Indy (BGI), located in historic City Market.
Walking
National journalists have proclaimed Indy one of the most walkable downtowns in the country. On foot, visitors can reach hundreds of restaurants and attractions from their hotel and meeting space. An expansive network of climate-controlled skywalks connecting 4,700 hotel rooms to the convention center, Lucas Oil Stadium, a four-story mall, and restaurants keep it walkable in all weather.

Explore the City
A city known for fast cars and blockbuster events has also gained acclaim for a flourishing culinary and brewing scene, thriving cultural institutions, cool neighborhoods, and so much more.
Indy was named the most ‘Underrated Food City in America’ by Condé Nast Traveler, and for good reason. Try classics like the searing shrimp cocktail at St. Elmo, the piled-high reuben at Shapiro's, or the oversized pork tenderloin that is served almost everywhere. James Beard-recognized chefs are on display at Bluebeard, Vida, and Milktooth. If you can't decide what to eat, wander into a food hall at The Garage, AMP, or City Market. From local restaurants to acclaimed breweries, Indy is fit for foodies.
Indy’s arts scene is also flourishing. Live theatre is alive and well in Indianapolis and there is talent around every corner in the city. From traditional Shakespeare at the Indiana Repertory Theatre to the eclectic and quirky spirit of IndyFringe, there are performances for everyone to enjoy. Indianapolis has emerged on the art and culture scene as a major player within the last 10 years. From public, free galleries to more quirky to professional spaces, Indy does art well. Cinophiles will find an abundance of film-related outings on a visit to Indy. Of course, there is no shortage of standard movie houses from which to select. Like many cities, they are traditionally settled around shopping centers, including downtown’s Circle Centre.
Experience Indianapolis the local way and discover the neighborhoods and lifestyle of some of Indy’s coolest and most historic areas. Whether it’s ponying up to a pint of local brew, shopping for hand-made art collectibles, taking in a play or live show, enjoying a succulent farm-to-table dinner, or just soaking up the sights of one of the most walkable cities in America, neighborhoods such as Broad Ripple Village, The Canal & White River State Park, Fountain Square, Indiana Avenue, and many more, offer the best of Indy.
