Documentation is essential in maintaining the integrity of community based programs. It is imperative for tribal community corrections personnel to document both the progress as well as the setbacks of individuals on community supervision. Whether you are supervising an adult or juvenile in a pretrial, post-sentence, or post-incarceration capacity, maintaining records detailing compliance and non-compliance will allow for an accurate record of an individual’s time and activities while on supervision. It also will help you manage and adjust your supervision strategies to address the individual risk and needs of those you supervise as they arise.
